I wanted to let you know we have another opportunity for a key role on the Kerith staff team. As well as our Site Services Assistant, we are also recruiting for a new full time Accounts Assistant to work in our Finance Team. The Accounts Assistant is a specialist role for someone with previous finance experience, who can accurately handle numbers and is motivated to meet regular deadlines. Experience in an accounting package is essential and we’d also love someone who has run a payroll before. If you know someone or you yourself love it when numbers balance, if you’re not fazed by deadlines and you want to enable Kerith ministry leaders to do their best work, then please consider if this could be for you. Oh yes, you probably love using Excel, too!
This is an essential role to us. The finance team is the engine room of Kerith – nearly all that we do generates a financial transaction which needs to be accurately recorded and processed in a timely manner if we’re to steward the resources God gives us with integrity.
Key responsibilities are detailed in the Job Description, which is in the information pack which is available from reception, but they include:
- Preparing accurate offerings & gift day totals
- Processing giving received under Gift Aid
- Maintaining fully reconciled bank accounts
- Running our Payroll
- Managing the purchase ledger
- Accounting for staff & volunteer expenses
The role reports to Helen Dodwell, our Financial Controller. The finance team is part of the wider Ops team, which together handles finance, HR, IT and events management, fully participating in Kerith staff team life based in our Barn office.
