If you were around this Sunday in one of the three meetings you'll have heard me give out two very simple challenges for this week.
The first was to spend 15 minutes meditating on Psalm 1. Get a Bible, get yourself somewhere on your own and then for 15 minutes think about what God is saying to you through this psalm. What does it tell you about God, what does it tell you about your relationship with him, what encourages you, what challenges you, what is there to give thanks for and what are you going to do differently as a result of what you've read.
The second challenge was to spend 15 minutes on your own with God this week talking to him and listening to what he says. Be real, be honest, be open and be thankful.
This is as a start to our forthcoming series on the spiritual disciplines of Bible reading, prayer, solitude, confession etc (as and aside I've been trying to come up with a more encouraging name for "spiritual disciplines", "relational food" is the best I've come up with so far).
I'd love to hear what anyone comes up with as you meditate on Psalm 1, what God says to you in prayer, or even other names for spiritual disciplines.
