I wrote last week about the power of practical acts of encouragement, and in particular how the first time we read about Barnabas as an encourager he is entrusting the apostles with his finances.
Well on that basis I've had an incredibly encouraging week. After talking on Sunday about the goal of raising £750,000 this year, over and above our regular giving (more about this in a future blog), somebody has already given £10,000 towards making the buildings more welcoming and accessible, and another church has sent us a gift of £390 towards Serenje. How cool is that!
Why not think right now how you can practically encourage someone today. A bunch of flowers, a chocolate bar, a gift, a book - you just don't know what impact it will have.
Simon (the encouraged!).
